Wijs is an international B4 primary school catering to children aged 4 to 13 years old. We implement English as the primary language from a young age, preparing children for a world where English is increasingly becoming the standard language.
We operate on a four-day school week with flexible holiday periods and celebrate holidays without religious connotations.
Our philosophy is focused on the holistic development of the individual, including body, mind, and soul. We offer a holistic education program with four basic elements: nature, health, talent development, and holism. With this, we aim for balanced growth.
At Wijs, we believe in a nurturing and stimulating environment where children thrive, with respect for nature, health, and individual talents. Our educational approach includes 80% outdoor lessons to foster a deep connection with nature and raise children's awareness of their ecological footprint.
Healthy, organic food is an integral part of our holistic education, where we make children aware of the origins and impact of food on our planet. Relaxation is also important, so we integrate mindfulness practices to increase attention and develop emotional intelligence.
We believe in providing a flexible learning environment where children can follow their own pace and interests. That's why we focus on the passions and talents of each child, without forcing traditional learning activities such as reading, writing and math. At Wijs we give children free time after school without homework. We don't believe in standardized tests; instead, we monitor children's development through our own portfolio and conversations.
Complete package
Flexibility and tranquility are important to us, which is why we have set fixed drop-off and pick-up times for the entire IKC (daycare, primary school, and after-school care).
Parents purchase a total package in which children are welcome 52 weeks a year, 4 days a week, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., including after-school care activities, swimming lessons and catering during the day. Parents can plan days off and holidays themselves, which offers flexibility and saves costs.
